HoB is seeking developers
for 315 Main Street...
The Heart of Biddeford is seeking proposals for the development
of a highly visible lot at what most consider the gateway to the old
mill town's
downtown.
The Heart of Biddeford, working closely with City officials,
has
crafted an RFP that will put emphasis on the most creative, appropriate
development for the corner. The City of Biddeford came into possession
of the roughly 3900 square foot lot after the previous owner defaulted
on property taxes. The building that had occupied the site was declared
unsafe and demolished in December of 2005.
Proposals will be reviewed by a committee comprised of
individuals from the community, the Heart of Biddeford, and the City
council. Proposal
submissions are due by May 15. The Review Team will select a winner
to recommend to the full council by June 15.

The Coalition to Revitalize
Maine's Towns and Cities
Heart of Biddeford has joined a coalition of like minded
non-profits
and individuals statewide with a goal of helping to spearhead the
efforts of downtown revitalization throughout the state of Maine.

Heart of Biddeford is asking for your support.
In order to keep promoting
our downtown, sponsoring functions, and bringing events like Chalk on
the Walk and the Holiday Festival to our downtown, we need your financial
support. We work tirelessly to spread the word about our downtown and
have gotten great press in DownEast Magazine and the Boston Globe this
past year due to our efforts. Please consider a financial contribution
to the Heart of Biddeford. Even the smallest bit helps.
