OFFICIAL BUY LOCAL PRESS RELEASE:
On May 25th, The Buy Local Campaign was officially launched with a press conference in the Chamber Board Room. After many months of strategizing and planning, the program is ready for prime time.
The Chamber, thanks to hard work by Mike Knowles, has been well represented in the process. The Board of Director’s have stood firm in their commitment to the benefits of this program and the potential prosperity it aims to bring to our communities.
Today, I would like to urge you all, as members of the Chamber, to visit the Buy Local Website (www.biddefordsacobuylocal.org) and sign your business up to participate. The best part is, the first year will cost you nothing to join. Your only commitment is to take “the pledge” and a small cost of doing business as you decide what coupons or discounts you might offer customers. The website has been specially designed to allow participating businesses to create their own page and promote their business.
As Executive Director, I am very committed to this program’s success. As Chamber Members and representatives, I am encouraging and urging you to lead the way. The success of the Buy Local Campaign will lead to greater revenues and economic stability for our communities. The Chamber has information regarding the campaign, as well as, sign-up sheets if you would prefer to register by hard copy. Feel free to stop in and get registered.
